a series of watercolor portraits presented as an installation
I paint myself people....

The series began as an intimate practice: painting a person out of loneliness.
Sometimes those I once knew.
Sometimes those I know now.
Sometimes those I invented.
Just letting the paint bring a face into being.
Each portrait became not only an image, but someone who could stay nearby, someone to witness my existence.
Over time I understood that these drawings assemble into a kind of “inner choir.” They are no longer separate portraits, but a collective where real and imagined people intertwine. They become a reflection of my remembering, my need for dialogue, my search for the other who is always close, even when they are not there.
In the future, this series will turn into an installation: the portraits will gather together in a space where each of them will receive a voice. It will be a space of inner dialogue, a space for meeting those who live within me and beyond me.
Exhibition-wise, I imagine it as a cramped room densely seeded with portraits, or as a constructed cube inside a gallery with a low doorway. The sound will be a chorus of dozens of voices repeating my earlier performative practice:
“I love you! I’m sorry! Thank you!”
I want these recordings to come from different countries, in different languages, depending on where the installation is shown.

Я малюю собі людей.....

Серія почалася як інтимна практика: малювати людину з відчуття самотності.
Інколи тих, кого я знала.
Інколи тих, кого я знаю.
Інколи тих, кого вигадала.
Просто дозволяючи фарбі народжувати обличчя...
Кожен портрет ставав не лише образом, а й кимось, хто міг залишитися поруч. Свідчити моє існування.
Згодом я зрозуміла, що ці малюнки складаються у своєрідний «внутрішній хор». Це вже не окремі портрети, а колектив, у якому реальні й вигадані люди переплітаються. Вони стають віддзеркаленням мого пам’ятання , потреби в діалозі, пошуку іншого, який завжди поруч, навіть коли його немає.
У майбутньому ця серія перетвориться на інсталяцію: портрети зберуться разом у просторі, де кожен з них отримає голос.
Це буде простір діалогу, простір для зустрічі з тими, хто живе у мені й поза мною.
Експозиційна я бачу це, як тісну кімнату засіяну портретами або збудований куб в галереї з низькими дверима,
А також аудіо з десятками голосів, що повторюють мою попередню перфомативну практику:
«Люблю! Пробач! Дякую!»
Я хочу, щоб такі записи були з різних країн, різними мовами, залежно де буде експонуватися інсталяція.
