Ця робота створена на основі знайденої побутової вишивки, що належить до шведської традиції молитов на текстилі, що є домашнім декором. For me, working with domestic embroidery is a way of engaging with collective memory. I use found textiles as cultural carriers that already embody a certain ethic and aesthetic. My intervention does not destroy this history; rather, it seeks to activate it and translate it into a contemporary context — at least, that is my intention.

I work with found, anonymous embroideries. Often these are pattern-based pieces, like an archive of “innocent” decor. By adding contemporary text, I am not illustrating a thesis or a fixed position, but trying to shift the focus. I show how appropriation works through what seems neutral and “outside politics.” The text interrupts the idyll and makes visible a monopoly over images and the right to symbols.
