"I'LL HELP YOU, MR. TRUMP"
Вікторія Бурлака про проєкт: "Попри постійний технологічний і суспільний прогрес, людство не дуже то й прогресує морально. Одна з глобальних проблем світу полягає в тому, що ми досі ділимо світ, людей, країни на перший/другий/третій сорт, на своїх і чужих, на хороших і поганих, правильних і неправильних, емігрантів з Мексики та «корінних жителів» Америки...
Парадоксально, як країна, яку створили емігранти, боїться саме емігрантів."

“Despite constant technological and social progress, humanity has not progressed much morally. One of the world’s major problems is that we still divide the world—people, countries—into first/second/third class; into ‘us’ and ‘them’; into good and bad, right and wrong; into immigrants from Mexico and ‘native inhabitants’ of America…
It is paradoxical how a country built by immigrants is afraid of immigrants themselves.”

Addressing xenophobic sentiments, the work was based on a specific event — the intention to construct a new wall between the United States and Mexico.
At the request of the U.S. government, eight wall prototypes were developed. One of them was to be selected by President Donald Trump.
I proposed a ninth option.
In it, there is no wall.
Or it is invisible.
Or made of glass.
Or perhaps it is merely an electric field.
Gallery visitors were invited to make a choice — to “help” determine the option by voting with pseudo-dollars.
This was not only an art project, but also an experiment — an attempt to capture how a decision takes shape.
The exhibition lasted for over a month, during which anyone could cast their vote.
The “pure” landscape received the most votes.
Emptiness proved more appealing than an obstacle.
Any wall creates an illusion of calm.
It does not solve the problem; it merely pushes it out of sight.
As a satirist once said: it is a fight against mold, not against dampness.

Торкаючись ксенофобських настроїв, робота була заснована на події — намірі встановлення нової стіни між United States та Mexico.
На вимогу американського уряду було створено вісім прототипів стін. Один із них мав обрати президент Donald Trump.
Я запропонувала дев’ятий варіант.
У ньому стіни немає.
Або вона невидима.
Або скляна.
Або це лише електричне поле.
Глядачам у галереї пропонувалося зробити вибір: «допомогти» визначити варіант шляхом голосування псевдодоларами.
Це був не лише художній проєкт, а й експеримент — спроба зафіксувати, як формується рішення.
Виставка тривала понад місяць, і протягом цього часу кожен міг проголосувати.
Найбільше голосів зібрав варіант «чистого» пейзажу.
Порожнеча виявилася привабливішою за перешкоду.
Будь-яка стіна створює уявний спокій.
Вона не розв’язує проблему, а лише відсуває її з поля зору.
Як влучно сказано: це боротьба з пліснявою, а не з вогкістю.
